Shore Memorial Hospital offers and supports courses to develop job specific skills for a variety of Allied Health Professionals.
Literacy Volunteers of America (LVA) Shore Memorial Hospital (SMH) fosters growth as a “Learning Community” in partnership with the Literacy Volunteers Cape-Atlantic Inc. Adult Basic Skills and ESL (English as a Second language) instruction is geared to meet personal learning goals, regardless of past formal education and literacy skills. Each adult student will be offered a confidential skills evaluation, text, study materials and a comprehensive individual learning Goals Plan.
Course content is based on national standards that focus on the roles of adults in the workplace, as family members and citizens within the community. For employees, literacy translates into better understanding of job tasks, improved customer service and a greater appreciation of lifelong learning.
