Respiratory Care

Shore Memorial Hospital's respiratory care practitioners evaluate, treat, and care for patients of all ages with breathing disorders.
All respiratory care practitioners (RCP) are either certified respiratory therapists (CRT) or registered respiratory therapists (RRT) and specialize in the assessment and treatment of respiratory and cardiovascular pathologies. These include chronic lung problems such as asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as more multi-systemic problems stemming from other conditions such as heart attacks, stroke, trauma or complications at birth.
Your physician may order specific outpatient tests to help diagnose, treat or monitor your condition.
To schedule a pulmonary function, arterial blood gas or pulse oximetry assessment:

  • Pulmonary function tests (PFT) are scheduled by appointment only. To schedule an appointment call 609-653-4726. For PFT results call 609-653-3728.
  • Arterial blood gas (ABG) and pulse oximetry assessments require no appointment and may be completed Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please remember to bring your prescription with you.
