Endoscopy

Each year Shore Memorial Hospital performs more than 5,000 endoscopic procedures which are used to diagnose and treat patients with gastro-intestinal, lung, cardiac and other conditions. Many conditions can be managed without surgery through the use of the fiberoptic technology.

Bronchoscopy, including the newest Superdimension technique, uses computer-assistance to safely navigate through the lung and access tumors located in the outermost reaches. Utilizing this technique may save a patient from major thoracic surgery. Shore Memorial is the only hospital in the region to offer Superdimension technology

Through the use of ultrasound guided technology, some cardiac conditions are diagnosed in this unit.
