Shore Memorial Hospital’s Manager of Cancer Community Outreach, Marge Scanny, was recently named the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s State Lead Ambassador for New Jersey. Scanny will be overseeing, directing and organizing the district team leaders while campaigning to keep programs funded for cancer patients.
Scanny, a Linwood native, has been with Shore Memorial for 20 years and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society for three years. She had previously served as the American Cancer Society’s Congressional District 2 lead ambassador for the past two years before being chosen as the new state lead ambassador.
Scanny, a married mother of two, is very passionate about helping cancer patients because she is a cancer survivor and knows what it is like to walk in those shoes.
“I am honored that the American Cancer Society has selected me,” Scanny says.
