James T. Foley

FHFMA, FACHE, MBA, CPA - Vice President of Finance/Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Compliance Officer for the System and each affiliated entity

Mr. Foley earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at Rutgers University. He also earned the Master of Business Administration degree at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia in 1997.

Serving in various financial management roles with the Shore Health System since 1983, Mr. Foley was appointed Shore Health System Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Compliance Officer in 1998.

Prior to joining Shore Memorial Hospital, Mr. Foley had been Corporate Controller for Geriatric & Medical Centers, Inc., a publicly traded chain of nursing homes with over 2,500 beds. Earlier financial management positions included Corporate Controller for Photo Drive Thru, Inc. from 1978 through 1980, Assistant Director for Management Services with the County of Camden, New Jersey from 1974 through 1978 and Credit and Collections with General Electric Credit Corporation in 1973 and 1974.

Mr. Foley currently serves on the Board Finance and Investment Committees of the New Jersey Hospital Association. He has served as a Board member and Treasurer of the South Jersey Aids Alliance since 2005. He served as a Board Member, Manager and Treasurer of the Shore Ambulatory Surgery Center, LLC in Somers Point, New Jersey. from 2001 – 2007 (Shore Memorial’s interest divested in 2007).

In 2001, Mr. Foley was invited to participate in a select group of delegates to the Healthcare Financial Management Association International Exchange and Seminar. He was subsequently appointed one of only nine U.S. delegates to the 2002-2003 United States/United Kingdom CFO Exchange Program.

In 2007, he served as an invited HFMA delegate to China to observe that country’s health delivery system and has participated as a contributor in HFMA’s national Thought Leadership Retreat: Building a New Payment System since 2007 as member of the Payment Reform Council.
